A little more about Isabel Rumble…
Through her story-telling and songs, Isabel invites audiences into a cocoon of reflection on the subtleties of love, nature and human relationships.
In 2021 she released an EP Warm Wind and stepped onto various stages in Tasmania and interstate, confirming her love of performing and sharing stories through song. She was honoured to receive the Folk Federation of Tasmania Songwriting Award as well as shortlisted for the Australian Songwriters Association Awards.
Her debut album is now in the works with producer Luke Plumb. This project has been supported with a grant from Arts Tasmania as well as a successful Pozible campaign.
Isabel has performed twice at the magnificent Franklin Palais, including supporting Daniel Champagne, and is delighted to be returning to the Franklin Folk Club.
Zinnia Blue…
Are an alt-country / Americana duo from Cygnet, Tasmania, featuring interweaving guitars and two-part harmonies. The pair create sparse and brooding melodies and lyrical, uplifting ballads that reinterpret country, folk, and old-time music traditions.
The heart of Zinnia Blue is married couple Kate Tucker and Matt Ellis who write and arrange the music together, creating a sound that is delicate, earthy, and emotional. Lead singer Tucker’s voice is sweet, rich, and rough around the edges, reminiscent of The Audreys’ Tasha Coates, and her simple guitar style blends perfectly with Ellis’ tastefully intricate melody guitar work. The pair’s voices weave closely together in old-timey two-part harmonies reminiscent of the Milk Carton Kids or Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.
Zinnia Blue distilled their unique sound and eclectic songs for their debut album The Garden, released in 2020, which they celebrated with a tour beginning at the Cygnet Folk Festival in Tasmania.
“Ellis and Tucker have made an album of their musical family album … The gentle, broody and intimately honest – uncompressed – sound of the record conveys the love of family, community and landscape which has been so instrumental in creating this work.”
– Mandy Connell
Rose Wilson…
Is a newly local singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, singing teacher and generally enthusiastic human.
Rose holds a Bachelor of Music with a major in vocal performance, and has always delighted in singing in as many different styles, and exploring as many different instruments, as possible.
Rose has names for all her instruments- her most frequent music-making co-conspirators being Mimi the Looper and Delilah the keyboard, with some guest appearances from various tin whistles.
As a sharer and singer of songs, Rose loves creating moments of connection, peace, power and pin-drops. Rose’s style is easeful, varied and lilting-smooth, traveling from haunting, to beautiful, back via funny and on through to powerful, before continuing on to find more places still to go.
Until recently from regional NSW- where she lived in an off-grid, self-built cob house and ran nine choirs a week- and now from building-a-hobbit-house-in-Cygnet, Rose is looking forward to joining in with new musical worlds and sharing her own.
On the internets, you can find Rose at www.rosewilsonsinging.com and on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube @rosewilsonsinging.
Dan Rawlins…
Dan Rawlins is a singer song writer nestled in The hills of Franklin. He lives on the edge of a forest in a gypsy wagon with his dog and creates Aussie folk tales with quirk and warmth. New to the scene, Dan is currently recording his debut album set for release in 2023.
