It show cases this very remote unique part of the world while inter twining local history\, an understanding of the environment\, while also demonstrating the teams own struggles due vehicle issues in this harsh lonely part of the world. \nThe expedition comes to an abrupt ended due to an unforeseen catastrophic issue with one of the vehicles\, turning the series from an adventure\, to a dash for survival. \nModern vehicles can be more straightforward and comfortable for travelers undertaking such a trip\, though no amount of ‘mod cons’ can replace the essential human sense of adventure\, grit\, team work and knowledge gained through experience. \nThe emphasis is on getting outside to explore and seeing Australia for what it is\, and dealing with challenges of travel as they arise. \nThe production will be broken up in to a five part series\, fifty-minute short film\, has\, and will be promoted via a number of different mediums. \nSYNOPSIS \nIn the second season of the Seriously Series franchise\, (Seriously Series- Road to Ruin)\, the team tackled the Canning Stock Route (CSR)\, one of Australia’s last frontiers as well as being the world’s longest stock route at some 2\,000kms. \nThere are no service stations or towns along the stock route\, so all provisions are carried for the complete expedition. Vehicles are comprehensibly prepared\, as all breakdowns and failures from the vehicles require fixing on the track. The environmental conditions are harsh with endless corrugations\, sharp spinifex\, dust and scorching heat exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. \nThe team of four people and two vehicles\, a 1975 Land Rover Series III and 2014 Land Rover Defender\, leave Kalgoorlie\, Western Australia\, in early September 2017\, and head to the small outback town of Wiluna to start their journey. Just north of here\, the CSR stretches up across three deserts\, and ends at the small hamlet of Halls Creek on the edge on the Kimberley. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiversifying the programs content\, Seriously Series delves into geology\, geography\, navigation\, local history\, vehicle maintenance and bush- mechanics. The program gives a holistic understanding of the environment in this unique part of the world\, and how to problem solve when things do not go according to plan. \nThe Land Rover Series III suffers from unforeseen mechanical issues along the stock route\, which slows progress. The team have been on the Canning for 2 weeks and are just half way along when a significant mechanical break\, forces the team to decide how to get themselves out quickly\, safely and preferably with both vehicles. \nThey back track over 200kms and exit the Canning at Georgia Bore\, heading for Newman\, with more breaks along the way and creative repairs needed to get them to their destination. The film closes in Newman.
