About the Franklin Palais Theatre
The Palais Theatre is in the middle of the picturesque town of Franklin in the Huon Valley, approximately 35 mins drive south from Hobart. The Palais management Committee (PMC) works with other community groups, including the Franklin Progress Association , Franklin Traders, Women on Water, and the Living Boat Trust, just to name a few. We often work together to fund raise and bring larger events to the community. New members with ideas and energy to implement them are always welcome.
The Franklin Palais Collective runs in the Palais library Friday - Sunday, selling local produce, baked goods, art and craft supplied by community members. Its closed in July for a winter break.

Rooms
The Palais Theatre is a greater than 100-year-old Heritage hall with a blend of federation and art deco style architecture.
History
For over 100 years the Palais Theatre has been a place where memories were created: children performed for family and friends, young women came out at debutante balls, people of all ages enjoyed films, weddings, dances and concerts.
Management
The Palais is a Huon Valley Council building managed by the Palais Management Committee which is elected annually by the community and appointed by Council to administer the theatre according to the terms of reference established by Council.
