Facilities
As well as the gorgeous main hall and stage, the Palais offers movable seating, professional sound equipment, a kitchen and more.
When hiring the Palais Theatre, you are welcome to use the following facilities.
Moveable Seating
Consisting of:
- 4 benches of 3 seats
- 100 single seats
- Fixed Seating in Balcony - total capacity 90
Total building capacity is 260 persons
Bar facilities
The Palais does not have a commercial kitchen licence.
The supper room bar area has a drinks fridge, servery bench and sink with hot water and glass dishwasher. There is some bench space, an oven, and a microwave oven. This is suitable for heating food and limited food preparation. It is recommended that you view the facility prior to planning/holding your event. There are also glasses and an urn for hire.
The Noni Carr room bar area has a drinks fridge, fixed servery bar, sink with hot water and can be used as a bar for the Main Hall.
Stage
(if you have hired the Main Hall)
The stage is a basic platform with a sound sanded surface with manually operated stage curtains. There is a lighting bar located behind the proscenium arch, with 4 adjustable stage lights but no dimmers. There is also a sound system and video projection equipment for hire, please contact Palais Bookings for more information.

Media
The Palais is lucky to have some high quality media equipment available for hire, such as a cinema quality film projector (courtesy of Tasmania Community Fund grant). Other equipment includes;
A sound system to support the projector and a fixed screen over the stage
An overhead projector and portable screen suitable for the meeting rooms.
