On Saturday 1st April the Huon Valley Harvest Festival was celebrated at the Franklin Palais with a long table feast and harvest ball (brought to you by Huonvalleyfoodhub).

Hosted in the beautiful The Franklin Palais, new and old friends came together to share a delicious meal featuring fresh local produce catered for by local homebased cooks from within our community. Steve and Majorie Gadd performed during the dinner.

The Cooks – Naomie Clark-Port of Frank’s, Kelly Walker & Yorka Burgos.

The Produce – Frank’s (Franklin), Sparrow Foot Farm (Franklin) & Our Mates Farm (Geeveston).

One of the dishes featured fresh passata made at Franklin Primary School 1pm – 5pm after the Primary School Garden Blitz 9am – 12pm. It was a great opportunity for the community to come together over a shared table and learn new recipes using local produce!

All that amazing food gave an extra spring in the step of attendees as they enjoyed a traditional barn dance – with young and old getting into the swing and dancing the night away!

The organisers would like to thank the cooks, local producers, Frank’s Cider, Wallaby Track Bush Band, all of the dedicated volunteers and of course, all those who came along and supported the event. It was a truly special evening and one we hope can continue into the future
