This concert is now being held at the Huonville Town Hall. Violinist Simone Slattery and cellist Anthony Albrecht subtly combine a range of beautiful classical music.
The music selection is from Bach to Vaughan Williams, with recordings of Australian birdsong while simultaneously showing illustrations, photographs and videos of birds and landscapes. This highly original multi-media event is inspired by Tim Low’s award winning book “Where Song Began: Australia’s Birds and How They Changed the World”. Having already toured in the UK and US as well as several Australian states, Albrecht teams with Slattery to bring this unusual event to Tasmania.
This very special performance is not to be missed – at the Huonville Town Hall, 40 Main Street, Huonville on Australia Day, Saturday 26th January. The one-hour performance starts at 7pm, and includes a Q&A session afterwards.
We are acting on advice from the local Councils and the TFS in moving the concert. We understand that not everyone will be able to attend due to the fire situation. Refunds or ticket transfers are still available to anyone in that position. We are offering free tickets to any evacuees from the Geeveston area, and hope that going ahead with the concert will keep some Australia Day spirit alive in the area.
Please do not travel to the concert if this puts you at risk. We may still cancel the performance on advise from the TFS and the local councils.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding and we hope to see you tonight.
Kind regards,
Anthony and Simone
