Native Forest Logging is the highest emitting industry in Tasmania. Its annual emissions are 4.6 million tonnes which is 2.5 times the entire Tasmanian transportation sector including domestic aviation. The Tasmanian government business Sustainable Timber Tasmania loses tens of millions every year and the industry employs a total of just 1,200 workers which is 0.5% of the Tasmanian workforce. This all sounds pretty depressing.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Solutions and alternatives already exist and we as a community can make a positive impact on carbon emissions by making these very small changes to our economy. Become part of this very easy solution to climate change by helping us end Native Forest Logging!
